How to Access Instagram

Troubleshoot Instagram login blocks, verification loops, and regional restrictions.

Identify the lock​

Instagram surfaces similar banners for different problems. Match yours to one of these categories:

  1. Age verification required - selfie or ID check pending in Accounts Center.

Four-phase recovery​

Complete Instagram's checks, clear stale sessions, then tunnel only if necessary.

Method 1: Complete Yoti/ID verification​

  • Use bright, indirect light and hold the phone at eye level while following the on-screen prompts.
  • Remove hats, glasses, or filters. If the selfie fails, switch networks (Wi-Fi - mobile data) or attempt on a different device.
  • If Instagram requests ID, upload a clear passport, driver licence, residence permit, or other accepted document with all corners visible.
  • Track status in Accounts Center - Personal details - Date of birth. Meta emails and texts confirmation once approved.

If the flow loops, clear cache, update the app, and try the browser fallback at instagram.com/accounts/confirm/. Persistent loops often resolve after removing saved login information and re-authenticating.

Suspended for age review?​

Submit Meta's verification form with the exact assets requested:

  • Login email (or device ID for Apple/Google sign-ins).
  • Selfie holding a handwritten note showing that email/device ID plus today's date.
  • Selfie holding the government ID used for verification.
  • Screenshot of the suspension banner.

Support deletes the document immediately after review and sends a confirmation email-check spam folders if you don't see it quickly.

Regional specifics​
