Controls that stop WebRTC from exposing Stripchat users' real IPs.

Definition​

WebRTC leak protection features block the browser from revealing local or public IP addresses via WebRTC ICE candidates. VPN extensions implement this by forcing connections through the proxy and stripping local network addresses.

Why it matters​

  • Prevents de-anonymization: Even with a VPN, a WebRTC leak can reveal your real IP to Stripchat or embedded ads.
  • Consistency: Stops randomly failing connections when browsers mix VPN and direct routes.

How to enable​

  1. In Surfshark or NordVPN extensions, toggle WebRTC or Prevent WebRTC leaks.
  2. Test using tools like browserleaks.com/webrtc; only the VPN IP should appear.
  3. If a site requires local network discovery (e.g., WebRTC-based conferencing), temporarily disable the protection in a separate profile.
