WireGuard Protocol

Lightweight VPN protocol that keeps Stripchat streaming fast.

Definition​

WireGuard is a modern VPN protocol built on the Noise cryptographic framework. It uses a lean codebase (<5,000 lines), ChaCha20-Poly1305 encryption, and Curve25519 key exchange to deliver high speeds with strong security.

Why it matters​

  • Low overhead: Streams load quickly thanks to efficient handshakes and kernel-level implementations.
  • Mobile friendly: Recovers connections instantly when switching networks - ideal for watching Stripchat on the go.
  • Foundation for custom protocols: NordLynx, Surfshark's WireGuard mode, and other branded options leverage WireGuard internally.

Tips​

  1. Select WireGuard (or the provider's WireGuard-based mode) whenever speed is the priority.
  2. Combine with kill switches and DNS leak protection; WireGuard itself doesn't include those safeguards.
  3. In strict regions, fall back to OpenVPN TCP if WireGuard packets get blocked.
