Secure Core is Proton VPN's feature that routes your connection through hardened servers in privacy-friendly countries (Iceland, Switzerland, Sweden) before exiting to the public internet.

Why it matters​

How to enable​

  1. In Proton VPN, toggle Secure Core; choose a Secure Core pair close to your location for speed.
  2. Expect slower performance - double hops add latency - so reserve it for high-risk scenarios.
  3. Combine with Proton's NetShield (malware blocking) for full protection.
